North Carolina Beach Trip

Lorelei LOVED the water.
Charlotte running along the beach one morning.
A morning walk with my littlest girl.

There were no bathtubs at the beach house we rented. Lorelei adapted just fine.
Another morning walk. We did this a lot.

Finding treasures.

Sunrise.
Charlotte made us RUN between her sand project and the ocean when we needed more water.

See?

I love her smirk here.
Daddy and Lorelei.

Grandgirlies with Nana and Papa.

Papa molding, in his words, the next generation of builders.

Playing in the sand. And possibly eating it (Lorelei).
We tried for a decent family shot. Really, we tried.

Girls, girls, girls.

Awwwww.
So, we're back from a week-long vacation at Topsail Island, on the North Carolina Coast, which is a bit south of the Outer Banks. We LOVE Topsail.

We went 2 years ago, with an 18-month-old Charlotte, but we couldn't do it last year due to Lorelei's impending arrival. This year, we had my parents come for two very good reasons: (1) they could spend quality time with their grandgirls, which is rare and difficult to do with them living on the opposite coast, and (2) we'd have back-up for child care. Having them there allowed us to have a date night, steal away for an hour to grab a drink, and take long walks on the beach (which we did every single night).

I'll write about North Carolina again in more detail, but I just spent an absurd amount of time uploading all of the above photos and need to go be motherly to my kiddos. In short, though, we adore that area and have every intention of returning again next year.
