Frozen Adventure

Like most girls under the age of 100, my daughters are absolutely OBSESSED with Frozen. So, when FROZEN on Ice made its way to the DC area, I knew going was a MUST.

Luckily, Chris's work was doing a huge fundraiser for Children's Hospital. As his employer is one of the sponsors of the show, it was auctioning off a set of four 4th-row tickets. Chris bid (and bid and bid) and won them. Woohoo!

As big sister, Charlotte dressed as big sister Elsa, and Lorelei donned a costume for little sister Anna. Of course, I couldn't find a size 2T Anna costume (at the time), so I had a domestic goddess in Utah custom-create one for her via Etsy, embroidery and all. She did a beautiful job---so beautiful that I disregarded the "convert to Mormonism" brochures she included with the dress and still gave her a 5-star rating.

Obviously, when you have a dress MADE for a two-year-old, that dang dress will double as her Halloween costume.

The girls were SO excited for the show. Charlotte begged to take her stuffed Elsa doll (and Lorelei her stuffed Anna doll) to the show. Chris said no, and I did the parental no-no of undermining him and pointing out that with their own dolls in their arms, our family would be inoculated against the waaaaaaaaay overpriced Frozen dolls and other wares being hocked at the event. It totally worked.

The show itself was adorable and fun, and we saw about 400 little girls dressed up as Elsa. Perhaps 1 Anna for every 20 Elsas. Honestly, I would've liked to have worn an Elsa costume, too. Elsa is awesome. Fortunately, Charlotte let me wear her Elsa tiara for part of the show.

Waiting for the show to start.
