Crawling to Thanksgiving

We had a full house during Thanksgiving week. My folks plus my brother and sister-in-law came all the way from Seattle. It was so nice to have everyone here at once, and having enough room also helped. Charlotte stayed home from school for a whole week and basked in the center of attention. I’ll let the photos below show how we spent our week, but one major accomplishment requires a whole paragraph. My darling, now-mobile Charlotte can crawl! She kept teasing us with getting in position, leaning forward, and then falling back into a sitting-up position as if to say, “Ha! Fooled you! I don’t intend to crawl—ever!” Then, with all six of us cheering her on, Charlotte put one hand in front of the other . . . in front of the other . . . in front of the other! And she has been insanely mobile—and grinning—ever since. I had been afraid that I would miss her first crawl while she was at day care (yes, it mattered!), so I was thrilled to watch her master this new move for the first time.

Charlotte at her first bar. If Nana and Grandpa are there, it's not bad parenting . . . right? (And I don't know why this photo appears so small!)

Grandpa and his #1 girl. Doing the tourist-y thing. (Aren't they cute?)
Uncle Tyler has a real way with babies. Charlotte hanging out with Uncle Tyler and Auntie Christine. My Thanksgiving table. Another view. I only wanted to include one table photo, but my computer isn't letting me delete this one . . . so it stays.
Oh, family.
